Free vs paid
Can you launch a meme coin for free?
Yes. The transaction is nearly free and the tooling is free. What "free" does not include is the part that decides whether anyone ever sees the coin — and that is the honest reason to pay for anything.
Yes — a pump.fun launch costs about $1.40 in network cost and no platform fee, so the token itself is effectively free. What is not free is the art, the site and the audience, and those are the parts that decide whether anyone buys.
What is genuinely free
- Creating the coin. pump.fun charges no platform fee. The only cost is Solana's own: about 0.0144 SOL of deposits plus ~0.0005 SOL of fee, around $1.40, paid by your wallet.
- Trading. You do not create a liquidity pool or deposit SOL to make the coin tradable. It trades against a bonding curve from the first buy.
- Hosting a site. A free static host, a GitHub repo or a Netlify drop will serve a one-page site at no cost.
- Practising. Devnet lets you run the entire flow with free test SOL. The token is worthless there, which is exactly what makes it the right place to learn.
- Making art. If you can draw, or you can prompt an image model, the icon and banner cost nothing but your time.
What "free" leaves out
A launch has three jobs, and only the first one is free:
- The transaction. Seconds, about $1.50, no skill.
- The brand and the site. An icon that reads at 48 pixels, a banner, and a page that loads fast, shows the contract address and does not look abandoned. Hours, or a paid service, or a bad first impression.
- The audience. Weeks. In the largest dataset available, launches that advertised a Telegram channel graduated at 1.485% against 0.166% for those without one — 8.9 times higher. No tool sells this, and any tool that claims to is selling you a "call".
What each paid route actually sells
| Route | Cost today | What you still do yourself |
|---|---|---|
| pump.fun, directly | 0.01495 SOL ($1.40) | Everything: the icon, the banner, the site and the posting. |
| Jumpbit | 0.052 SOL ($4.87) | The art, the site and the audience — and it is built around bundling buyer wallets. |
| solana-token-creator.com | 0.1 SOL ($9.37) | The art, the site and the audience. |
| Smithii | 0.5 SOL ($46.83) | The art, the site and the audience. |
| soltokencreator.io | 0.5 SOL ($46.83) | The art, the site and the audience. |
| Mint a Brand (this site) | $30 (0.320 SOL) | The audience — and the three weeks of posting before launch. |
Prices read on each vendor's own page on 30 October 2026, converted at today's SOL price. None of them charge the network fee, which your wallet pays either way.
When paying is worth it, and when it is not
Pay if you have no art, no page and no patience for either, and you already have somewhere to announce the coin. The money buys preparation you would otherwise spend a weekend on.
Do not pay if you can make a decent icon in an hour and drop a static page on a free host. In that case the $30 is buying you time, not a better outcome, and you should spend it on the audience instead.
Do not pay anyone who offers to bring buyers, "guarantee" a graduation, run "volume" or sell you a call. Across 2,635 graded Telegram calls, 9% were up 24 hours later and the median call was down 93%. In aggregated KOL data, more than 65% of recommended coins went to zero. That is what the money buys in that market.
Where this product loses
- We are not the cheapest way to get a token on chain. Launching directly on pump.fun costs about a dollar and a half and takes ten minutes. Cheaper launch tools exist at $4.87 and $9.37.
- We do not provide an audience, a channel, a following or a single buyer.
- We do not guarantee your coin trades. Most do not.
- We cannot change anything after it is signed. Neither can anyone else.
What we do is the middle job: the icon, the banner, the stickers, the site with its own copy and domain, and the launch prepared for your wallet to sign — in about twenty minutes, for $30.
Questions
So what is the honest minimum spend?
About $1.40 of network cost if you do everything yourself, plus whatever your time is worth. There is no legitimate way to launch on Solana for literally zero: the network charges rent and a fee, and any "free" launcher pays it for you in exchange for a cut of trading volume or your wallet connection.
Can I launch on devnet first?
Yes, and you should. Devnet SOL is free, the flow is identical, and you get to make your mistakes — a typo in the ticker, a wallet that runs dry mid-flow — where they cost nothing.
Is a paid launch service a scam?
Not inherently: charging for design and build work is ordinary. The line is what is promised. A service that sells art, a site and a prepared transaction is selling labour. A service that sells buyers, guaranteed volume or "trending" is selling you the other side of someone else's exit.
What if I only need the logo?
Then buy a logo, not a launch. The site page describes what a token page actually needs, so you can judge what you are missing.
What does it cost after launch?
1.25% on every trade (0.30% of it to the creator), and 0.015 SOL when — if — the curve completes. There is no hosting bill from us and no subscription.
If the free route is right for you, take it
The launch guide covers the transaction and the three weeks of posting in the same detail we would use ourselves. If you would rather the art and the site were done, that is what $30 buys.
