Answer

How long do memecoins last?

Short answer

For 80.37% of them, less than a day — and only 4.55% are still alive at 90 days, out of a sample of 18.67M tokens.

The survival curve

The numbers are blunt. 68.67% of coins make their last trade on the day they were created. 80.37% are dead within a day. At 90 days, 4.55% are still alive, which across a sample of 18.67M tokens is a small population rather than a rounding error. Between those points the curve does not flatten; it keeps shedding.

Graduation is a separate and much rarer event: 0.198% of coins graduated in the May to June 2026 sample, 1,651 out of 832,941. An earlier window, September to October 2025, ran at 0.63%. Those are the coins that leave the curve for a real pool at 85.0054 SOL raised, with the LP burned.

  • 80.37% dead within a day, 4.55% alive at 90 days.
  • 0.198% graduated in the May to June 2026 sample; 0.63% in September to October 2025.
  • Roughly 33,676 launches a day compete for the same attention.

What the sample does and does not say

18.67M tokens is enough that the shape is not a fluke of one busy week. It also means the averages are dominated by coins nobody remembers: one buy, no return, no second day. A coin with an unusual first day is being measured against a population that mostly did not have one.

The one thing the sample cannot tell you is which coin will be in the 4.55%. It describes a distribution, and every individual launch is a single draw from it.

  • The distribution is stable enough to plan around; individual outcomes are not predictable.
  • A strong first hour moves you out of the majority without guaranteeing a second day.
  • Treat the 4.55% as a description, not a target you can select into.

What the survivors have

Coins that are still trading at 90 days have usually been traded on a day other than their first, which sounds trivial and rules out four fifths of the field. Some have graduated, which puts them on PumpSwap with a burned LP and a fee that starts at 1.25% below roughly 420 SOL market cap and steps down to 0.30%.

Almost none of them survived on the launch post alone. Two-thirds of a coin's life happens in its first day, and anything that keeps going has found a reason for a second visit rather than a better first impression.

  • Trading on day two is rarer than a good launch day and more predictive.
  • Graduation at 85.0054 SOL moves a coin to PumpSwap with the LP burned.
  • The launch is one day; longevity is a separate problem.

Related questions

What percentage of memecoins survive a year?

No figure for a full year is quoted here. The measured 90-day figure is 4.55% alive, across 18.67M tokens.

Do graduated coins last longer?

Graduation is 0.198% of launches and gives a coin a real pool with the LP burned, which removes one way to fail. It is not a guarantee of survival.

Why do so many die on day one?

68.67% of coins make their last trade on creation day. Attention arrives once and does not return.

If the brand and the page are what is stopping you

Mint a Brand draws the icon, banner and stickers, builds the token site on its own subdomain and prepares the launch for your wallet to sign, for $30. Your wallet pays the network fee and is the creator of record.
